About Hawaiian Lion The ever elusive long sleeve Hawaiian shirt...myth, fairy tale, or relic of Hawaii's golden period from the 1930's? All I know is that they are pretty hard to find on the mainland. The only ones I've seen in Hawaii besides the ones I own are pictures of movie stars wearing them hanging in restaurants. Here at Hawaiian Lion we like Hawaiian shirts, especially long sleeve Hawaiian shirts. We'd like to wear short sleeve ones all the time but outside of Hawaii or the tropics the cooler climate necessitates longer sleeves! Shopping with us is safe and secure. 	Christian del Rosario is a New England surfer, sailor, and firm believer in 'Island Lifestyles'. He's been a hardcore surfer for sixteentwenty years which has led him to live the majority of the last ten of those years on various islands including Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Puerto Rico, Tortola, and Maui just to name a few. He's also had the opportunity to sail all over the East Coast, Caribbean, and even across the Atlantic checking for surf the whole way. A big fan of Hawaiian shirts and the freedom they represent-Christian became frustrated with the lack of long sleeve Hawaiian shirts to be found anywhere and decided to start making some.
Christian started Hawaiian Lion during the winter of 2002/03 to make and sell long sleeve Hawaiian shirts to people who love and appreciate all the fun that life has to offer. Whatever you call them; Hawaiian shirt, Aloha shirt, Party shirt, or Ugly shirt, Hawaiian Lion shirts are made to brighten up the room, your day, someone else's day and most importantly to spread Aloha to everyone. Based in Nantucket most of the year and then part time in Maui for the winter, the Hawaiian Lion line has just launched with two styles and many more to come.
